| OBJECTIVE:
To continue 4+ decades
of inventing and developing healthcare products and services that optimize
quality-of-life. Currently focused on developing sleep-related products
and services that increase healthspan and extend life by reducing the effects
of chronic stress, inflammatory response, and pain. These proprietary
products and services will specifically target the trend toward improving
quality-of-sleep in the emerging boomer demographic and older generations.
BACKGROUND:
Robert Bornn is an
inventor, entrepreneur, marketer, and business developer. During
four decades of life-positive advocacy, Mr. Bornn has created more than
a dozen health, quality-of-life, and sustainable energy inventions.
He holds five medical device patents. He founded five research
and development companies and directed the R&D of his proprietary medical
monitors and ergonomic input devices. He also established two nonprofit
scientific research organizations.
In the early 80s
Mr. Bornn conducted sleep research at the Langely Porter Neuropsychiatric
Institute at the University of California San Francisco. He investigated
cardiovascular concomitants of dreaming and developed innovative underwater
electrophysiological recording techniques for flotation tank research.
For the next two
decades he created medical monitors and ergonomic devices. He licensed
the NightWatch™ ambulatory sleep recording and assessment system for the
adult sleep apnea market. The licensee sold $100 million of NightWatch
product and was later acquired for $5 billion.
Mr. Bornn also invented
PatientWatch™ hospital patient monitor, SafeWatch™ ambulatory cardiorespiratory
alert system, and LifeSense™ home personal monitor.
In the late 90s and
early 21st century he invented hands-free HiBrow™ and soft-touch Companion™
ergonomic input devices.
LifeSense Technologies
Founder and President
2011 - Present
Founded LifeSense
Technologies (a company-in-formation) in 2011 to provide his proprietary
inventions and approaches to the high-growth stress reduction, anti-inflammatory,
analgesia, and sleep-disorders markets. These markets reflect the rapidly
emerging boomers along with older generations of elders. As they age, these
populations are especially prone to added stress, increased inflammatory
response, chronic pain, and more sleep disorders.
Mr. Bornn's product
development objectives include his proprietary, AromaChill™ mindful-breathing
system to manage stress by inducing calmness and relaxation. Sleep-onset
is encouraged by inhaling specially-targeted, natural, aromatic phytochemicals
using a unique, learned-breathing process. The system delivers user-selected
aromas that may be conducive to reduced agitation, facilitating conditions
for timely sleep-onset and maintenance of restorative and healthy sleep
to improve a person's well being.
Mr. Bornn also anticipates
applying leading edge analysis to accurately label botanical products that
potentially provide neuroprotectants; anti-inflammatory effect; analgesia;
and uninterrupted, healthful and restorative sleep (with attendant daytime
well-being and maintained or improved sexual function). He anticipates
that his proprietary labeling process will be based on a unique bio-availability
analysis of the phytochemical profiles of selected plants and extracts.
Anticipated future
product research and development will also focus on additional applications
which may reduce metabolism during sleep as a means to extend healthspan
and promote longevity.
